On July 20th, 1969, the world held its breath: three human beings were on their way to the moon for the very first time. Flipboku created the Apollo 11 Flipbook set as a tribute to this historic achievement.
Volume 1 is titled ' 'The Iconic Footage' and is based on original footage from the NASA archives, and features the Saturn V launch and the astronauts inside the Command Module. Through the Flipboku Augmented Reality App, you can see a 3D model of the Saturn V rocket as well as an animated recreation of the stage separation.
Volume 2 has 6 more sequences depicting the moon landing from a more technical and informative point of view, featuing some of the most important manoeuvres performed by the astronauts, such as the stage separations and docking procedures and the lunar orbit insertion of the CSM-LM module. In addition, the docking procedure is featured as an animated 3D model in the AR App.
The exclusive assembly technique for these ingenious flip books allows you to trigger 6 different stories in each flip book (12 in total), depending on the position of your thumb. Each Flipbook is printed on high quality recycled 170gsm paper by Fedrigoni, Italy using sustainable FSC® certified sources.
