Wil’s puzzles are beautifully engineered.
The egg arrives in a state where absolutely nothing moves, but it won’t take long to initially make progress; though it might take a while to get beyond this.
I’m not a fan of puzzles that have hidden mechanisms, but this is different; At each stage the puzzle reveals a little more of itself (not enough to fathom out the mechanism), until eventually you manage to separate the two halves. The process requires no force, no tapping and no magnets are involved - just a sequence of 'moves' executed in the right order. There are some traps along the way; avoiding these, it will take around 10 ‘moves’ to solve. Once open the mechanism will reveal itself; It took me a while to fully appreciate it. Study this well before you attempt to re-assemble.
