The Georges Méliès flip book is part of the Pioneers collection from Spanish flip book experts, Flipboku. A tribute to the pioneers of early filmmaking, this is one of ten "cinemagic" flip books, each triggering 6 different animations depending on the position of your thumb!

Each edition also features a two-minutes augmented reality micro-documentary with more information about each artist's life, their background and their most outstanding works, which can be viewed through your personal smartphone or tablet (instructions on the box).

Georges Méliès (1861 – 1938) was a French illusionist, actor and film director who pioneered many technical and narrative developments, and became one of the most influential filmmakers in the early history of cinema. Méliès was well known for the use of special effects, making popular such techniques as stop-motion substitution, multiple exposures, time-lapse photography, hand-painted colour and dissolves. He was also one of the first filmmakers to use storyboards.
