Cherry Wood Oloid CLEARANCE

An intriguing geometric shape with mathematical and aesthetic properties to amaze. It was discovered in 1929 by German sculptor, inventor and mathematician Paul Schatz. Although curved, an oloid moves in a perfect straight line. As it rolls the whole of it's surface touches the ground, and it's surface area is identical to that of a sphere with the same radius. 

Expertly produced by Kuboid in Switzerland, each wooden oloid is unique with it's own grain and characteristics and available in three beautiful woods. 

  ABOUT THE BRAND     KUBOID

Kuboid GmbH was established by Christoph and Tobias Langscheid in March 2006. The name “cuboid” like the name “oloid” is taken from Paul Schatz. The cuboids are shell shapes of the oloids and are formed during an inversion movement of the cube. 

Their mission is to follow the character of the “cuboid form” in the overall context of the work of Paul Schatz and, in close collaboration with the Paul Schatz Foundation and the Paul Schatz registered company, to convey knowledge of Paul Schatz’s models and their applications.
