An intriguing geometric shape with mathematical and aesthetic properties to amaze. It was discovered in 1929 by German sculptor, inventor and mathematician Paul Schatz. Although curved, an oloid moves in a perfect straight line. As it rolls the whole of it's surface touches the ground, and it's surface area is identical to that of a sphere with the same radius.
These stunning handmade Oloids are available in either light or dark marble from the Philippines. When buying this product, you're supporting the marble crafts from people on the island of Romblon and Koberwitz 1924, an organisation which aims to bring about a more sustainable future.
Each marble Oloid has been individually crafted and features it's own unique pattern and aesthetics.
