Remeshok Chetki: Ultem Beavertail

The Remeshok chetki are Aroundsquare's modern take on the jointed plate style chetki which are commonly found in Russia.

The name Remeshok comes from the Russian word for "strap", reflecting the clean lines of the set. 

The Beavertail editions of the popular Remeshok Chetki feature an elongated end bead, tapered to a stout thickness at the outer end, and rounded for a comfortable experience. They have a sleek appearance, but it's not just aesthetics. These extended ends have a somewhat surprising effect of locking the ends into place between the fingers. They are narrow enough to slip through the fingers with ease, but when there is tension at an angle, the beads act like a lever. This effectively prevents them from slipping through the fingers when you don’t want them too, and also creates a springiness as the tension is absorbed and released during play. 

Since the Beavertails are longer than any end beads launched to date, they've shortened the length of the joining section between the ends. For the Beavertail mods, they've been trimmed down to 16+2 (compared to the 17+2 configuration of the original Remeshoks). The overall length in each case is similar.
