Oasis Kaleidoscope

Handmade in Japan by kaleidoscope artist Chitoshi Takabayashi.

Oasis is a beautifully crafted kaleidoscope created by Japanese artist Chitoshi Takabayashi. Housed within a polished dark wood wood body and finished with brass.  

The scope features a 2-mirror, 6-point system on a black background; producing intricate subtle darker patterns. The oil-filled rotating object chamber is illuminated from both the front and side. Each scope contains a mix handcrafted glass elements to form the visuals inside.

CHITOSHI TAKABAYASHI

Mr Takabayashi was an apprentice in the US with renowned kaleidoscope artists Randy and Sheri Knapp.

After returning to Japan, he began creating his own works in 2009. His art focuses on the use of white and glass elements, inspired by clouds, to create depth, layered textures, and three-dimensional light effects.
