Maboroshi Kaleidoscope

Handmade in Japan by kaleidoscope expert Tomoo Hosono.

Hosono's kaleidoscope are a slightly different kaleidoscope that use a polarising plate. The object that becomes the source of colour and shape is actually transparent film. The polarised light produced by the plate passes through the ilm and then through the polarising plate again, producing various colours of light with different wavelengths. Meaning that all are the colours of natural light itself.

Each piece in the series is unique in itself and full of surprises thanks to the elaborate mirror system unique to Tomoo Hosono and his brand, Mirror Cruise. Housed inside an unassuming stainless steel tube, the mystery awaits.
