Journeys Kaleidoscope

Handmade in Japan by kaleidoscope artist Chitoshi Takabayashi.

Journeys is a unique scope housed inside a beautiful body made from old restored wood.

Journeys is a kaleidoscope with a 2 mirror/3 point system and a 6 pointed frame. The viewing objects are suspended in oil providing a mesmerising and captivating gradual change in the visuals, with a turning brass tip adding to the experience.

CHITOSHI TAKABAYASHI

Mr Takabayashi was an apprentice in the US with renowned kaleidoscope artists Randy and Sheri Knapp.

After returning to Japan, he began creating his own works in 2009. His art focuses on the use of white and glass elements, inspired by clouds, to create depth, layered textures, and three-dimensional light effects.
