Mame Puzzle Box

Handmade in Japan by Hiroyuki Oka. The Himitsu Bako (秘密箱) is a traditional Japanese puzzle box designed to hide small items through a series of sliding panels.

Named after the Japanese for beans (small like beans!) this very small 1 sun 10 step puzzle box has been meticulously crafted and has an internal storage space measuring 18 x 22 x 13mm.

HIROYUKI OKA

Over 30 years ago Hiroyuki Oka was an apprentice with the expert craftsmen in the Hakone mountains.

Hiroyuki has since been working independently since 2003 and produces his own beautiful himitsu bako pieces of puzzle art.
