Fragmenta Playing Cards

A deck designed to deliberately resemble a miscut print run, this release from Oath Playing Cards Co. embraces controlled chaos as a visual concept.

Every card is offset and fragmented in a way that mimics production errors, yet the composition is carefully engineered to remain fully functional for play. The result is a striking, unconventional aesthetic where borders, pips, and indices appear shifted or broken. 

The presentation is taken even further with an equally bold tuck box, produced using five different foils layered across the design. This multi-foil application gives the box a vibrant, almost kaleidoscopic appearance, changing character depending on the light and angle. It’s a technically ambitious piece of packaging that reflects Oath’s reputation for pushing print boundaries.

In use, the deck truly comes to life - fans and spreads reveal the misalignment as a flowing, abstract pattern, making it particularly appealing for cardistry as well as collectors who appreciate experimental design.

Due to the complexity of the foil work, a bit of care is recommended: please open gently, as the red foil on the lid can be delicate and may show slight chipping along the fold line. This is a natural characteristic of heavily foiled tuck constructions rather than a defect, and part of the trade-off for such an intricate finish.
