"Where did today's standard card design originate? That's the question I began to explore in depth many months ago. One that put me on a journey to research and design a deck of cards inspired by beautiful historic art."
Available in both First Edition and Grail Edition.
Playing cards have evolved over many hundreds of years, with the echoes of the pattern we know today forming around the 15th century in Rouen, France. A design emerged that was adopted and copied in England, and then spread across the globe.
I've worked with card historians, museums and archives in my search for this original art. My reference material includes pieces from the Bibliothèque nationale de France, British Museum, Archives Department of Seine-Maritime, and Fitzwilliam Museum of Cambridge. I'm passionate about the quality of the Origins. The goal for this is to produce one of the highest quality decks made by the USPCC.
The embossing, hot stamped gold foil, Bee cards, and tuck stock are expensive but I've worked to keep pledge costs down. A special deck to own, play, or gift. This is a truly special deck, from a talented designer. Rick has spent many, many months researching and designing these cards and tweaking details to ensure everything meets his standards.
The end result is a beautiful tuck and deck that can only be rivalled by Encarded's Aurum, Midnight Card's ORNATE series or perhaps the Mana Deck series. We're proud to be able to stock these decks, and we expect them to sell fast.
